PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya and Thailand’s eastern region are experiencing cooler weather and stronger winds as a powerful high-pressure system from China spreads across the upper part of the country, according to the Thai Meteorological Department.
In Pattaya and surrounding eastern provinces, morning temperatures have turned noticeably cooler, with readings expected to drop by 1–3 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures are forecast at 16–21°C, while daytime highs will range between 28–31°C. Northeasterly winds are strengthening, blowing at 20–35 km/h, adding to the cooler feel, especially along the coast.
Sea conditions off Pattaya have also become rougher. Waves in the eastern Gulf of Thailand are running at 1–2 meters, with offshore waves reaching around 2 meters, and higher in areas affected by thunderstorms. Authorities are urging boat operators and tourists engaging in marine activities to exercise caution, particularly during ferry crossings and recreational trips.
The Meteorological Department has advised residents and visitors to take care of their health during the cooler, windier conditions, and to remain alert to fire hazards due to dry air and gusty winds.
While Pattaya is not directly affected by the heavy rainfall impacting southern Thailand, officials stress that changing weather conditions can still pose risks for sea travel. Tourists are encouraged to follow safety guidance from local authorities and marine operators to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay in the city.
