Brother punches Pattaya cabbie over alleged harassment of sister

Saman Dumkam the taxi driver denied he had sexually harassed a woman passenger, but got punched in the face by the girl’s brother anyway.

A Pattaya man was caught on video punching a taxi driver his sister accused of sexually harassing her.
Identified as Tan, 22, the man was unremorseful over the Aug. 3 incident outside his house on Soi Pornprapanimit (Siam Country Club Road). He had asked family members to video his confrontation of taxi driver Saman Dumkam.

Tan’s 20-year-old sister filed a complaint with Nongprue police against Saman after he allegedly kissed and harassed her verbally as he was driving her, her brother Tan and their other sister home from a night of partying in Pattaya.

The victim said they had stopped at a convenience store on the way home and her two siblings went inside, leaving her sitting in the front passenger seat. While the family was away, Saman allegedly showed her he had a knife, then kissed her on the cheek, pushed an inhaler under her nose and asked for her LINE messaging app account ID. When she refused, he spoke lewdly and threatened her, she claimed.

The woman said nothing when the family members returned to the car, however, and only told Tan about it after the driver had left.
Using the mobile app the victim used to hail the Pattana Bor Thong Taxi Cooperative cab, the driver returned and the brother and Saman got into an argument which Tan ended with the punch.
