British man, 65, dies after motorcycle crash into power pole in Pattaya

PATTAYA, Thailand – A 65-year-old British man has died after his motorcycle crashed into a power pole in the Pong area of Banglamung, east of Pattaya, on the evening of April 3.

Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon responded to the incident at around 8:00 p.m. on Na Mueang Road, where they found the foreign rider with severe head injuries and no signs of life.

Emergency responders performed CPR for more than 40 minutes in an attempt to revive him, but were unsuccessful. A doctor later confirmed the man had died at the scene, with a broken neck reported.

The victim was later identified as Mr. Stephen Perkins, a British national.

Nearby, officers found a black-and-green Yamaha motorcycle with Chonburi registration plates, heavily damaged at the front, indicating a high-impact collision with the power pole.

Police documented the scene and are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
