BANGKOK, Thailand – Two Brazilian nationals were arrested at Don Mueang International Airport after immigration officers found they had overstayed their permission to remain in Thailand by 237 days. The two were detained on August 1 in the international departures hall while preparing to fly to Mumbai, India, on AirAsia flight SL218.
Immigration officers from Don Mueang Airport Immigration Division 2 discovered the overstay during routine departure checks. A biometric system check showed that both individuals had most recently entered Thailand through Suvarnabhumi Airport on September 9, 2025, after travelling from Vietnam. Their entry permission allowed them to remain in Thailand until December 7, 2025. Immigration records showed no departure from Thailand after their entry, resulting in an overstay of 237 days. The two Brazilians reportedly admitted to the offence. They were handed over to Don Mueang Police Station for legal proceedings.
