Police are investigating the hanging death of a bargirl as a homicide.
The body of Warisara Sathapornsakulkarn, 30, has found hanging from the strap of her purse in an old spirit in the woods near Soi Pornprapanimit 19, Dec. 28. She was fully dressed, except for missing her underwear, and her purse still contained cash and credit cards. Police said they believed she worked in a Pattaya bar.

Police said Warisara’s death could be either suicide or murder, but given her stylish dress and missing underwear, they’re investigating it as the latter.

No one near the hut, other than the Burmese maid who found her, had seen Warisara before and area closed-circuit television cameras did not provide any useful footage.

The Chonburi native was last seen at the Kieng Tarn Resort where she had checked in with a Thai man on Dec. 25. According to receptionist Jenjira Thongklad, the couple had lunch with a Thai woman and left the hotel for the day.

Warisara returned that night and was heard arguing and crying on the telephone. The next morning, the unidentified Thai man came to the front desk asking for Warisara’s whereabouts. He then brought her personal belongings down from the room and checked out.
Police are trying to locate him.
