PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya Tourist Police stage gold shop robbery drill at South Pattaya Big C
Tourist Police and local authorities have conducted an emergency response exercise simulating a gold shop robbery at Big C South Pattaya, rehearsing the pursuit and arrest of two suspects to improve public safety and emergency preparedness. The scenario involved two suspects allegedly robbing the Bangkok Yaowarat gold shop inside Big C South Pattaya before attempting to escape by bicycle.
Officers practiced their response, pursuing the suspects and intercepting them beneath the bridge at the Thap Phraya intersection, where both simulated offenders were brought under control and arrested. The drill was conducted in line with policies aimed at protecting the lives and property of residents and tourists. It also allowed participating agencies and gold shop staff to practice coordination during a robbery and prepare for a rapid response to a real incident.
The exercise received cooperation from Pattaya City Police Station, Banglamung District officials, Pattaya City authorities and staff from the Bangkok Yaowarat gold shop. Organizers said the operation was completed smoothly, helping improve coordination among the participating agencies and build confidence in their readiness to respond to emergencies in Pattaya.
