PATTAYA, Thailand – Strong waves pushed large amounts of rubbish and debris onto Pattaya Beach following heavy rain and rough sea conditions, prompting city crews to launch an urgent clean-up operation. Pattaya municipal officers, special affairs staff and the city’s Environment Department were deployed along the beach to collect the waste and other debris washed ashore by the waves.
When storms hit, keeping Pattaya clean takes all hands on deck, and crews worked quickly to clear the shoreline and restore the beach to a clean and orderly condition.
The area was also being prepared to accommodate a parachute-jumping training activity scheduled for the day, adding to the need to clear the beach and ensure it was safe for use. Officials continued assisting residents and tourists and maintaining safety around the beach while weather and sea conditions remained unsettled.
