BANGKOK, Thailand – Tourist Police at Don Mueang International Airport helped a Macau visitor recover a missing suitcase after it was mistakenly taken by another passenger at the baggage carousel. The incident occurred on July 16, at around 7:40 p.m. after the tourist arrived from Macau on AirAsia flight FD763. After waiting approximately 30 minutes at the baggage claim area, the visitor found that their suitcase had not arrived and suspected that another passenger had taken it by mistake.
The tourist reported the issue to airline staff, who checked the baggage information and provided documentation. The visitor then contacted Tourist Police for assistance in locating the missing luggage. Officers coordinated with AirAsia to obtain contact details of the passenger who had taken the wrong suitcase. After being contacted, the passenger confirmed that the luggage had been mistakenly exchanged and agreed to return it to the rightful owner at Don Mueang Airport.
The suitcase was successfully returned to the Macau tourist, who expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by Tourist Police. Tourist Police reminded international visitors that assistance is available through the Tourist Police Call Center 1155 and the Tourist Police App, which provide support for travellers facing emergencies or difficulties while in Thailand.
