More than 100 security officers fanned out across the Rong Luey Community neighborhood, targeting known drug-use spots and looking for guns and other weapons.

Banglamung District inspected the Rong Luey Community near Pattaya looking for drugs and weapons.

Deputy district security chief Paradon Chainapaphon took 100 officers to fan out across the neighborhood, targeting known drug-use spots and looking for guns and other weapons.

District Chief Pisit Sirisawadnukul divided the squad into four teams that knocked on doors and asked to search homes.

Local residents were “invited” to undergo drug tests with seven men failing the check for methamphetamine use. Despite the huge effort, only a single speed pill and some paraphernalia were found.

Pisit said the raid came after law-abiding residents complained about rampant drug use.
