Thailand will waive tolls at 63 checkpoints on three expressways on October 13, giving motorists a holiday break from toll charges and reducing travel costs.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) will waive tolls at 63 checkpoints across three expressways on Tuesday, October 13, to mark the annual public holiday commemorating the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great (Rama IX).

October 13 marks the anniversary of the beloved monarch’s passing in 2016. This year marks 10 years since his death, with Thais remembering his dedication to the nation and his decades of service to the Thai people. The toll exemption aims to ease travel costs, improve traffic flow and make journeys more convenient for motorists during the holiday.

The free passage arrangements cover three expressways:

  • Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway: 21 toll plazas
  • Si Rat Expressway: 32 toll plazas
  • Udon Ratthaya Expressway: 10 toll plazas

The exemption covers all 63 toll plazas across the three routes for the day. EXAT advises motorists to plan their journeys in advance, obey traffic regulations and drive carefully to ensure safe travel throughout the holiday.
