PATTAYA, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has revised its October–November 2025 event calendar following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The adjustments observe the national period of mourning, with changes to dates, programming, and presentation to ensure appropriate tone and respect.
The Vijit Chao Phraya Thailand 2025 festival has been moved from November 1 to December 15, to November 9 to December 23. In tribute to Her Majesty, the event will adopt the concept “The Light of Siam—Mother of the Land.” Fireworks will be replaced by a drone light show, and lighting designs throughout the festival will be softened. On New Year’s Eve, a nationwide candlelight ceremony will be held to honor Her Majesty’s legacy.
Maha Loy Krathong @ Ayutthaya will take place as scheduled from November 2 to 6 at Wat Phra Ram in Ayutthaya Historical Park. While core activities remain, the tone will be adapted to reflect the mourning period. Fireworks will be omitted in favor of homage ceremonies, cultural performances, and musical tributes featuring royal compositions, as well as local markets presented in a setting of remembrance.
Maha Loy Krathong @ Sukhothai, scheduled from October 27 to November 5 at Wat Chana Songkhram, will proceed with traditional festivities in a more solemn atmosphere. Craft workshops, cultural displays, and regional food markets will showcase local heritage. Each night at 9:21 p.m., a ceremonial lighting of oil lamps will take place, inviting attendees to honor Her Majesty in quiet unity.
The Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2025 will go ahead on November 30, following its original route from MBK Center to Sanam Luang. Event arrangements will be adjusted to suit the national mood, ensuring an atmosphere of dignity.
