BANGKOK, Thailand — Kasikorn Securities expects the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index to trade between support levels of 1,585 and 1,555 points and resistance at 1,615 and 1,630 points during the week of September 28 to October 2. Kasikorn Research Centre said investors will be watching statements from US Federal Reserve officials, developments in the Middle East and foreign fund flows for direction.

Key US economic data due during the week include personal income and spending, August PCE and core PCE inflation figures, non-farm payrolls, unemployment, September manufacturing ISM and PMI readings, second-quarter 2026 GDP and weekly jobless claims. Other international indicators include China’s August industrial company profits and September manufacturing and services PMIs, September manufacturing PMI data from Japan, the eurozone and the UK, and preliminary September consumer price data from the eurozone.

The Thai stock market rose for most of the September 21–25 week, supported by a combination of domestic and international factors. The SET index gained early in the week after Fitch Ratings revised its outlook on Thailand’s credit rating from negative to stable, encouraging buying by foreign and domestic institutional investors, particularly in banking stocks.

Expectations surrounding informal talks between the United States and Iran on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, together with buying in electronic component manufacturers following gains in global technology stocks, also supported the market through the middle of the week.

The SET briefly pulled back while investors awaited developments from a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping before recovering towards the end of the week. The late-week gains were supported by continued growth in Thailand’s August exports and buying in shares of a major electronic component manufacturer.

On Friday, September 25, the SET index closed at 1,607.63 points, up 1.48% from the previous week’s close. Average daily trading value was 65.17 billion baht, down 6.14% from the previous week. The mai index gained 0.30% to close at 224.44 points.
