Tourism Authority of Thailand Frankfurt Office hosted a media trip for DACH journalists to showcase eco-friendly travel routes across southern Thailand, highlighting new sustainable tourism circuits from Krabi to Nakhon Si Thammarat.

PATTAYA, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Frankfurt Office organized a media trip to evaluate and promote new eco-friendly travel routes connecting secondary tourism destinations in southern Thailand. The initiative caters directly to travelers from the DACH region—Germany, Austria, and Switzerland—which is globally recognized for its strong commitment to green tourism.

According to behavioral analysis reports from the Tourism Authority of Thailand Intelligence Center, over 50% of inbound tourists from these European nations are actively seeking and willing to invest in sustainable travel activities.

Following the launch of the environmental travel initiative that introduced 20 pilot routes across 10 Thai provinces, the TAT Frankfurt Office published a comprehensive travel guide in German to expand its market reach. To stimulate interest, the office invited seven prominent media representatives from the DACH region to survey a cross-coastal route connecting the Andaman Sea to the Gulf of Thailand. The itinerary guided the European press delegation through Krabi, Khao Sok, Cheow Lan Lake, Khanom, Sichon, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Bangkok.

The media delegation included five German journalists, one Austrian correspondent from a major national newspaper, and one Swiss content creator. During the journey, participants published real-time updates on online platforms, photography blogs, and social media. Despite variable weather, the campaign successfully showcased the diverse natural attractions of Thailand’s southern secondary destinations. TAT plans to follow this media tour with a dedicated commercial roadshow for European tour operators to drive structural growth in vacation package sales across these target provinces. (TAT)
