Pattaya rides a cinematic wave with nine days of international film

Pattaya will turn into a city of cinema from August 22–30, with free screenings, red-carpet events, outdoor movies, creative markets and filmmaker talks across the city.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City is preparing to host the Pattaya International Film Festival 2026, the fourth edition of the event, under the theme “The Cinematic Wave” from August 22–30.

The nine-day festival will feature free film screenings, a red-carpet opening, awards ceremony, outdoor cinema, creative markets, filmmaking showcases and discussions with leading directors.

Free film screenings will run throughout the festival at SFX Cinema Pattaya at Terminal 21 Pattaya.



The official opening, red-carpet event and awards ceremony will take place on August 28 at Colosseum Cabaret Show Pattaya. From August 28–30, visitors can enjoy outdoor film screenings and a creative market along Pattaya Beach. On August 29, the Behind The Scenes Film Production Showcase will offer visitors a look at the filmmaking process at the miniature Eiffel Tower area.

Film discussions featuring well-known directors will be held on August 29–30 at Royal Garden Plaza Pattaya, under the theme “Telling Powerful Stories Through the Language of Film.” The festival aims to strengthen Pattaya’s position as an international film and creative city while connecting cinema with culture, tourism and the creative economy.
