PATTAYA, Thailand – Thousands of Thai and international runners from 58 countries arrived in Pattaya on September 24 to collect race numbers and equipment ahead of the Amazing Thailand Pattaya Marathon 2026 Presented by MAMA, with organizers confirming the event will go ahead as scheduled on September 26–27. The race expo opened Thursday at the multi-purpose area of Terminal 21 Pattaya, where more than 70 businesses and exhibitors have set up booths. Runners across all categories turned out throughout the day to collect their race numbers and equipment.
Organizers advised runners and supporters to allow extra time when travelling to the expo because of forecasts for continued rain. Early arrival was recommended to reduce congestion if heavy rain affects the area. The organizers said they are continuing to monitor the weather closely but confirmed that the marathon will follow the original schedule. Runners and supporters have been advised to follow updates through the Pattaya Marathon Facebook page and the event’s LINE group.
Now in its 33rd edition, the Pattaya Marathon has attracted 21,727 participants, with a total of 39,323 people expected when accompanying supporters are included. Organizers estimate the event will generate more than 288 million baht in direct and indirect tourism-related economic activity.
Around 4,500 volunteers and local officials will support the event.
The competition is divided into four distances. The 42.195-kilometre marathon will start at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 27, with 2,983 runners, while the 21.1-kilometre half marathon starts at 5:10 a.m. with 7,780 runners. The 10-kilometre race, with 7,999 participants, starts at 5:45 a.m. on September 26. The 4.5-kilometre race, with 2,965 participants, starts at 6:25 a.m. for wheelchair competitors and 6:30 a.m. for the Family Run.
All races start and finish at the Dolphin Roundabout on North Pattaya Road in front of Terminal 21 Pattaya. The event is organized by Pattaya City in cooperation with Chonburi Province, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Sports Authority of Thailand, World Athletics, Provincial Police Region 2 and Thailand Tri-League.
