EEC food festival set to turn Pattaya Beach into ‘The Food Runway’ showcase

The “EEC Colors” festival will be held from May 1–4, 2026, at Pattaya Beach, stretching from the area in front of Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya along the beachfront as part of a major food and tourism showcase.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Chonburi province is moving ahead with preparations for the “EEC Colors” event under the slogan “The Food Runway,” aiming to promote food tourism and stimulate economic activity across Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

A coordination meeting was held on April 21at the Thappraya Meeting Room at Pattaya City Hall, chaired by Chonburi Tourism and Sports Chief Ampai Sakdanukooljit Slywinski. The meeting was attended by Pattaya Deputy Mayor Damrongkiat Pinijkarn, government agencies, private sector representatives, and local administrative organizations to align preparations across all sectors.



Officials said the event is designed to highlight local culinary identity through gastronomy tourism and community-based tourism, showcasing the culture, lifestyle, and unique products of the eastern provinces of Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong.

Organizers presented progress on event planning, which includes food festivals, community product zones, and cultural showcases, all aimed at promoting regional soft power and strengthening the EEC’s image as a tourism and investment hub.

Discussions also covered event zoning, traffic and tourist management, safety measures, and public relations strategies to ensure wide-reaching promotion and smooth operations. Authorities emphasized close cooperation among all stakeholders to maximize efficiency and benefits.

Organizers outlined plans for food festivals, community product zones, and cultural showcases under the “EEC Colors – The Food Runway” concept, aimed at boosting regional soft power and reinforcing the Eastern Economic Corridor’s image as a tourism and investment hub.

Pattaya Deputy Mayor Damrongkiat Pinijkarn said the city is fully prepared to support the event in all aspects, including venue facilitation, coordination, safety management, and inter-agency cooperation.

He added that the festival is expected to significantly stimulate the local economy and generate tangible income for communities while enhancing Pattaya’s tourism appeal.
