Don Mueang International Airport prepares for heavy Songkran travel traffic from April 10–19, with more than 1 million passengers and over 6,500 flights expected, as authorities urge travelers to arrive early and use online check-in to avoid peak-hour congestion.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Don Mueang International Airport is preparing for a surge in passenger traffic during the Songkran festival, with more than 1,060,000 travelers expected between April 10 and 19.

Airports of Thailand said the airport will handle an average of over 100,000 passengers per day, with a total of 6,551 flights scheduled during the period. The busiest day is expected to be April 11, when passenger numbers could reach about 108,499.

Travelers are advised to arrive at least 2 to 3 hours before departure to avoid delays, as congestion is expected during peak periods, including early morning from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., mid-morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and the afternoon to early evening from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
