Authorities in Bangsaen impose strict traffic rules for the April 16–17 Wan Lai Festival, banning sound trucks and water pickup vehicles from key beach roads to ease congestion and improve safety during peak celebrations.

BANGSAEN, Thailand – Authorities in Saensuk Municipality have announced strict traffic and safety measures for the upcoming “Wan Lai Bangsaen” water festival, including a ban on loudspeaker trucks and water-loaded pickup vehicles from entering key beachside roads.

The restrictions will apply to Khao Lam Road, the Bangsaen Beach access road, and Wonnapha Beach area during the annual “Wan Lai Bangsaen” celebration scheduled for April 16–17. Officials warned that violators will face fines of up to 2,000 baht.

Saensuk Mayor Narongchai Khunpluem said the measures are aimed at improving traffic flow and ensuring public safety, noting that parked vehicles and mobile sound systems have previously caused severe congestion and blocked emergency access routes, particularly along the main beach access road.

Authorities also raised concerns that emergency vehicles could face delays reaching Burapha University Hospital if roads become fully blocked during peak celebrations.

Despite the restrictions, officials confirmed that general tourist access to the beaches will remain open, with enforcement focused specifically on water trucks and entertainment vehicles that contribute to road blockage and safety risks.
