The Ban Jing Jai orphanage raised money for scholarships through a large secondhand goods sale in Nongprue.

Orphanage Director Piangta Chaumnoi led the July 1 market at the Nongprue Sub-district office.

Tables and stands were situated throughout the area offering good-quality secondhand items such as clothes, shoes, bags, household items and more. Prices ranged from 20-100 baht and attracted many buyers throughout the day.

“Our foundation wishes to support underprivileged children who are from poor families and those who are at risk of being abused or abandoned,” Piangta said. “We have recently come up with an idea to raise scholarship funds and for daily expenses by selling second-hand items.”

Ban Jing Jai has been in operation for more than a decade and currently cares for 87 children.

Chokchai Wongchakpat, general manager of PP Raksiam, donated a 19,500 baht to the shelter.
