Thai logistics industry building networks in China and India

BANGKOK, 17 July -Director General of the Department of Export Promotion Ms. Nantawan Sakultanak has led a team of Thai representatives from the logistics industry to China and India in an attempt to build global connections and stay competitive before the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) begins in 2015. 

According to Ms. Nantawan, the team has been to Guang Zho, Xiamen, Ei-u and Shanghai in China as well as Mumbai and Chennai in India to promote Thai logistics industry. It is expected that China and India will sign an agreement with Thailand on trade corporations. It will focus on establishing a one stop service between ports of Thailand and the two others while also aiming at becoming the logistics center in the ASEAN region.

Meanwhile, Thailand International Logistics Fair 2011, the event which will take place from 22-25 September this year at Bitech Bang Na, has been very well received by the two trading nations. Over 60 operators have already expressed their interest in participating in the event.
