TAK, 29 August 2014 – Tak province will help provide financial assistance to 142 Thai workers coming in from Libya.
Tak governor Mr. Somchai Hattayatanti presided over a ceremony to hand out assistance funds to workers in need of finding jobs overseas following the restive situation in Libya since August 5-19. A total of 169 workers have filed requests to receive such aid.
After consideration, the Department of Employment has decided to help 142 workers with 15,000 baht each, whereas the rest of the requests will be further considered afterwards.
A worker has revealed that the process of returning home has been difficult, as he had to board three flights before finally arriving in Thailand. The worker also thanked the Labor Ministry for helping him to return home safely.
The Tak governor said due to the worrisome situation in Libya, the Labor Ministry will give full aid and assistance to all Thai workers to see that they return home safely. The ministry has also provided financial assistance to their daily lives to help them cope with their expenses.
