BANGKOK, 5 April 2012  – The Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) is prepared to extend more loan guarantee to SMEs and low-income people, whose loan requests were rejected by financial institutions.

Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation Chairman Santi Vilassakdanont revealed that the TCG will extend the guarantee to small businesses that need loans.

Established in 1991, the TCG’s objective is to assist small enterprises with insufficient collateral to obtain a greater amount of credit from financial institutions.

According to Mr Santi, the TCG will also give loan advice to the Thai SMEs and support them in their plans to invest abroad in preparation for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). He believes the assistance given to small businesses will help strengthening their ability to compete. He added the SMEs will help drive the Thai economy, which has been affected by the flood devastation in 2011.
