BANGKOK, 6 November 2013 M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakula expects more growth in the world’s exports in the year 2014. Thailand’s GDP, he said, should grow over 4% thanks to the positive economic developments. In regard to the amnesty bill, M.R. Pridiyathorn advised that senators should put the bill on hold in order to provide the government 180 days of consideration – also taking into account the majority of the public disagreeing with the bill.

Former deputy prime minister and minister of finance, M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakula, expects to see at least a 4% growth in the Thai economy in 2014 as the global market pulls out of the recession. However, political instability in the country must be dealt with swiftly in order not to hinder investors’ confidence.

M.R. Pridiyathorn went on to say that the current political turmoil stems from the public disagreeing with the amnesty bill. Therefore, to avoid an escalation, the Senate should not pass the bill, but should return it to the House of Representatives for another 180 days of consideration.
