Autotrivia Quiz – Friday December 23 – December 29, 2011

Last week I mentioned that the first BRM’s were very advanced racing cars with V16 supercharged engines.  However, in 1953 they were beaten by prewar two liter cars.  I asked what cars were they?  They were ERA’s, such as raced very successfully by Siam’s Prince Bira, and in fact I saw the BRM being beaten by ERA’s at Charterhall (Scotland) in 1953.

So to this week.  What was the first US car with a transaxle in the rear?
