Thousand of music lovers and party revelers are expected in town this weekend as the city gets set to host the 12th edition of the Pattaya International Music Festival.
Long considered to be one of the largest beach music festivals in Asia, the event will take place this year from Friday, March 22 to Sunday, March 24.
Four main stages have been erected for this year’s festival: The Reggae stage will be in South Pattaya (next to Walking Street entrance); Central Festival Pattaya Beach will host a range of local and regional contemporary music acts; the open ground in Central Pattaya (next to Hard Rock Hotel) will be used for the Variety stage, and Soi 4 Beach Road will feature traditional Thai culture shows and music.
Recording company GMM Grammy will be providing headline acts for the Reggae and Variety stages only and the schedule for these two stages is listed on this page.
The music will start each day at 6 p.m. and go on until midnight, so expect the Beach Road area to be heavily congested throughout these times over the weekend.
As in past years, a collection of food and merchandise stalls will be sited all along Pattaya beachfront, so even if you decide not to check out the music you can still enjoy the atmosphere of what promises to be another fun-filled party weekend in the city that never sleeps.
