One of the very first alternative rock bands in Thailand, Modern Dog, recently rocked the house at the Hard Rock Cafe Pattaya with an enthralling live performance that saw a full house of fans, many of whom have been following the band since the very early days.

This famous Thai group comprises of members Thanachai Ujjin (Pod Modern Dog) – vocals, rhythm guitar; May-T Noijinda on guitar and Pavin Suwannacheep (Pong) on drums, with Pukun Sunsuriya as the night’s guest bass player from the Apartment Khun Pa Band.

The concert began with their stage shaking song ‘Bussaba’ from their first album ‘ModernDog-Soem Sukhaphap’ (1994), followed by ‘Lom Hai Jai’ and then the atmosphere was toned down with their ever popular song ‘Kon’, meaning ‘Before’, also from their first album.  They also played 2 of their new singles ‘O-Noi-Oog’ and ‘Scala’ and a famous slow tune from Carabao – ‘Talay Jai’.

The whole set lasted about an hour and the show was brought to a fine conclusion with performances of ‘Tim’ from their second album ‘Café’ (1997); Creep from Radiohead; Manee (1994) and ‘Tar-Sawang’, the hit song from their fourth album ‘That Song’ (2004).

As part of the Hard Rock culture, Modern Dog before leaving the venue signed a souvenir electric guitar which was received by Hard Rock Cafe manager Mathew Carley on behalf of the Hard Rock Hotel and Cafe Pattaya.
