The meeting included government officials, representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), the Royal Aeronautic Sports Association of Thailand (RASAT), and other relevant agencies.
The Deputy Minister highlighted the potential of advanced aviation technologies to improve connectivity between secondary cities, support medical services, and boost economic activity and tourism in the five provinces of Upper Northeastern Region 1, which are Udon Thani, Loei, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lamphu, and Bueng Kan. The Ministry of Transport will assess regulatory limitations, infrastructure readiness, and practical steps for implementing these technologies.

He also recommended updating general aviation regulations to support their development. The meeting reviewed progress on the Quick-Win initiative to upgrade Hua Hin Airport to international status and advance its development as a Smart Airport.
