APRSAF-32 brings regional space agencies, researchers and industry leaders together to advance satellite technology, disaster management and international cooperation from October 26 to 30.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Bangkok is hosting the 32nd Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF-32) for the first time in 16 years, bringing together space agencies, policymakers, researchers, and industry representatives to expand regional cooperation. Running from October 26 to 30, the forum covers satellite technology, disaster management, scientific research, and sustainable space development.

The event is co-hosted by Thailand’s Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Sessions took place at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel from October 26 to 28 before moving to ICONSIAM Hall for the final two days.

GISTDA Executive Director Pakorn Apaphant explained that the forum offers Thailand opportunities to expand international partnerships through satellite data sharing, joint research, and workforce development. Discussions also address responsible space activities, international standards, and wider participation by businesses, academic institutions, and young professionals.

The forum also features joint exhibitions and discussions with Thailand Space Expo, and its schedule, alongside the Moon Village Association Symposium, links regional satellite applications to lunar exploration. Organizers expect the activities to support continued cooperation in climate monitoring, disaster response, and technology development while expanding Thailand’s presence in the global space industry.
