BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) are enhancing cooperation to modernize national park services, promote high-value nature tourism, and uphold environmental conservation standards.

On October 22, 2026, TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool attended the second 2026 National Parks Committee meeting, chaired by Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Suchart Chomklin. DNP Director-General Yongyut Nakawiroj, committee members, and representatives from relevant agencies participated both in person and via video conference.

The meeting reviewed progress on the E-National Park initiative, which seeks to enhance efficiency, transparency, and visitor experience through electronic ticketing (E-Ticket), financial management (E-Accounting), and accommodation booking and permit services (E-Service).

TAT also proposed closer collaboration with the DNP to develop selected national parks as Tourism Sandboxes, enabling the testing of innovative tourism models under high service standards. The initiative will target high-value, high-spending visitors through the Workation Paradise and Luxury Experience concepts, while balancing tourism development with natural resource conservation.

The cooperation between TAT, the DNP, and relevant partners aims to shift Thailand’s nature tourism sector from a volume-driven approach to higher-value, quality tourism supported by sustainable conservation practices. The initiative will also strengthen Thailand’s international position as a destination for nature-based and luxury tourism, generating greater economic value while protecting the country’s natural heritage.
