Bus, van and minibus services operated by BKS and private partners have returned to normal on all routes, restoring public transport links to Pattaya and destinations across Eastern Thailand.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Bus, van and minibus services operated by private partners of Thailand’s state-run bus company have returned to normal on all routes following improvements in flood conditions, restoring public transport connections to Pattaya and other destinations in Thailand’s Eastern region. The Transport Co. Ltd. (BKS) said on October 2 that falling water levels in several flood-affected areas have allowed partner operators to resume normal services on all routes. Some services had previously been temporarily suspended where flooding made roads impassable.

The return to normal operations is expected to support travel between Bangkok and Pattaya, as well as other Eastern destinations, while giving residents and visitors more reliable access to public transport following recent flooding.

BKS Managing Director Attawit Rakjamroon said passenger demand remained steady, with 75,532 people using services operated by BKS and its private partners on October 1 across 4,897 trips.

For October 2, BKS expects around 79,309 passengers to use its services and those operated by partner companies, with approximately 5,142 trips scheduled.

BKS said it will continue monitoring flood conditions closely because some areas are still experiencing rain and flooding. Routes operated by both BKS and partner companies will be assessed and adjusted where necessary to maintain safe and convenient public transport. Passengers travelling to Pattaya and other Eastern destinations are advised to check current route conditions before departure, particularly where heavy rain or local flooding could affect road access.

BKS expects around 79,309 passengers to use its services and partner buses on October 2, with 5,142 trips scheduled as flood conditions improve.
