BANGKOK, Thailand – Flooding remains across 31 provinces and Bangkok following heavy rainfall and water flowing from the North into the Central region. As of 6:00 a.m. on September 30, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported flooding in 195 districts, 1,196 subdistricts, and 8,249 villages, affecting 1,041,307 households and 2,932,661 people.
Water levels were rising in several provinces, including Nakhon Sawan, Chai Nat, Sing Buri, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, and Pathum Thani. Ayutthaya recorded 34,138 affected households across 11 districts, while Pathum Thani reported 113,323 households across all seven districts.
Rising water was also reported in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Sa Kaeo, and Chon Buri. Prachin Buri recorded 39,977 affected households and Chonburi 118,723, while Samut Prakan reported 261,797 households, with water levels there beginning to fall. Bangkok reported 329,000 affected households, with water levels remaining stable. The DDPM continues to monitor conditions and coordinate relief operations as water rises in some areas while remaining stable or receding in others. (NNT)
