PATTAYA, Thailand – A 39-year-old British man was seriously injured in a knife attack at an apartment in Pattaya’s Khao Talo area on September 28, with police also finding about 100 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine inside the room. Nongprue Police were called to the apartment in Soi Khao Talo at about noon after a report of an assault involving a bladed weapon.
Outside the building, officers found a 22-year-old transgender woman with injuries to her left hand and fingers. A long sword was found nearby and taken as evidence. Inside room 502, police and rescue workers found the British man, identified as Scott, suffering serious wounds to his left shoulder, right arm and abdomen. He was given emergency treatment before being taken to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya.
Police found signs of a struggle inside the room, including bloodstains and scattered belongings. They also found suspected crystal methamphetamine weighing about 100 grams, packaged in small zip-lock bags inside a black bag and partly scattered on the bed. Suspected drug-use equipment, including syringes, was also seized for examination.
The 22-year-old told police that he was in a relationship with the British man and claimed the man had become suspicious and accused him of stealing crystal methamphetamine. He alleged that the man searched him for drugs, forced him to shower and wash his hair, and later detained and assaulted him.
He told police that a struggle then broke out and that he grabbed the sword and attacked the British man before fleeing downstairs to seek help. Police stressed that this account remains an allegation and are examining CCTV footage, witness statements and evidence from the room to establish what happened. Initial documents indicated that the British man was renting the apartment.
Both injured men were placed under police custody pending further investigation. Officers will question them again after medical clearance and determine any charges based on the evidence, including the ownership of the suspected drugs.
