PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet inspected the recovery operation at Pattaya Beach on September 29, where two boats were stranded after strong winds and waves pushed them ashore on September 24.
Poramet, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Manot Nongyai, Pattaya City administrators, disaster prevention officials, relevant agencies and private-sector representatives, visited the beach opposite Central Pattaya to assess the situation and monitor progress in removing the vessels.
A large parasailing boat and a squid-fishing boat were driven onto the beach during severe weather and strong winds on the night of September 24. After conditions improved, Pattaya City began inspecting the area, restoring the beach and planning the removal of the stranded vessels.
Officials expect the operation to take around 2–3 days, with safety for workers, residents and tourists given priority.
Poramet instructed officials and relevant agencies to proceed quickly but carefully, with the recovery plan designed to prevent further damage to the beach and nearby property while limiting the impact on the city’s tourism atmosphere. Residents and tourists have been advised to stay away from the work area while the boats are being removed to ensure the operation can proceed safely.
