The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) advises visitors that tourism services and visitor facilities across Bangkok continue to operate. However, conditions vary by area as localised flooding continues to affect some roads and journeys. Travel delays may occur, particularly when travelling to airports, transport hubs, and other destinations.
Visitors are advised to allow additional travel time and check current weather, traffic, and public transport conditions before setting out. Alternative routes or modes of transport should be considered where appropriate.
Airport and transport status
Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) remain open and operational. Road access to and from both airports may be affected by localised flooding and traffic congestion. Passengers should check their flight status directly with their airline and allow sufficient time for their journeys.
For Suvarnabhumi Airport, the main access routes remain open. Passengers are advised to avoid the Lat Krabang route due to significant waterlogging and use Motorway No. 7 or the Burapha Withi Expressway where appropriate. Suvarnabhumi Airport advises passengers to allow at least three hours for international flights and two hours for domestic flights, and to monitor current road conditions before travelling.
Airport Rail Link services are operating, providing a rail connection between Suvarnabhumi Airport and central Bangkok. Passengers should check the latest service information before travelling.
For Don Mueang International Airport, localised flooding in surrounding areas may affect traffic on some roads. Travellers arriving at or departing from the airport by road may use the Don Muang Tollway, which provides direct access to the passenger terminals.
Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) airport bus services A1–A4 are operating, although some delays may occur. The passenger pick-up and drop-off point has been moved to the airport’s Service Hall. Metered taxi services are temporarily suspended. Passengers should check current conditions and allow additional time for their journeys.
Red Line services on the Krung Thep Aphiwat–Rangsit and Krung Thep Aphiwat–Taling Chan routes have resumed normal scheduled operations. The Krung Thep Aphiwat–Rangsit route serves Don Mueang Airport, providing a rail option for passengers travelling to and from the airport. Passengers should check the latest service information before travelling.
For journeys within Bangkok, the BTS Skytrain and MRT continue to provide alternatives to road transport in areas affected by traffic congestion or localised flooding. Visitors should check the latest service information from the respective operators and take into account conditions around stations and connections to their final destination.
State Railway of Thailand services
For intercity rail travel, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) advises that operating conditions currently vary by route. The Northern Line has reopened following the earlier disruption, while train services on the Eastern Line are currently suspended. The Northeastern Line is operating after the previously affected section reopened, while the Southern Line continues to operate normally.
As operating conditions may change, passengers should check the latest status of their individual train before travelling through the SRT passenger tracking service at ttsview.railway.co.th or contact the SRT Call Centre 1690, available 24 hours.
Visitors travelling by interprovincial bus should also check the latest service information and departure arrangements with their operator, particularly for routes through areas experiencing heavy rainfall or flooding. Allow additional travel time when travelling to bus terminals.
