SRI RACHA, Thailand — Sometimes a stolen vehicle really does find its way home. More than two months after his motorcycle disappeared, a Sri Racha man has unexpectedly got it back after a local resident spotted the bike abandoned in a forest in Bowin. The motorcycle was found in a wooded area of Moo 3, Bowin subdistrict, after a resident noticed the suspicious vehicle and alerted village authorities.
Village headman Apichart Noonchuay sent assistant village headman Kampanat Saentho and local security personnel to inspect the motorcycle. They coordinated with officers from Bowin Police Station, who secured the vehicle while efforts were made to locate its owner.
The mystery was finally solved on September 27, when 36-year-old Adul Nabamrung contacted officials and identified the motorcycle as his.
Adul told authorities that the motorcycle had been stolen more than two months earlier and that he had already reported the theft at Bowin Police Station. After his ownership documents and police report were checked, officials arranged for Adul to collect his long-lost motorcycle. For Adul, what began as a theft that seemed unlikely to have a happy ending ended with an unexpected call and his motorcycle coming home.
