SONGKHLA, Thailand – Hatyai Hospital in Songkhla province has opened a Premium Medical Clinic (PMC), giving patients another option for specialist care with greater convenience and shorter waiting times. Songkhla Governor Ratthasart Chidchoo presided over the opening ceremony, attended by medical personnel, invited guests, and Herry Purwanto, Consul for Information, Social, and Cultural Affairs of the Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia in Songkhla.
The clinic supports the Ministry of Public Health’s policy to expand access to specialist services while making more efficient use of hospital personnel, medical equipment, and technology. It will operate alongside the hospital’s regular healthcare system without affecting patients’ existing access to services under their healthcare rights.
The PMC uses a one-stop service model covering registration, appointments, medical consultations, diagnostic services, medication, and payment through a streamlined process. The system is intended to reduce unnecessary steps and waiting times while making specialist care more convenient for patients. Revenue generated by the clinic will be reinvested in Hatyai Hospital to improve medical services, upgrade equipment, and support personnel. The PMC provides an additional service option while maintaining the hospital’s existing care for patients under the regular healthcare system. (NNT)
