PATTAYA, Thailand – Motorists are being advised to plan ahead for traffic changes in Pattaya during the Pattaya Marathon on Sunday, September 27, with temporary road arrangements in place from 12:01 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Parts of Sukhumvit Road will be adjusted to allow traffic to travel in both directions on the same carriageway while the race is taking place.
-Motorists heading towards Sattahip: Traffic on Sukhumvit Road from the Sukhumvit–Central Pattaya intersection to the Jomtien Second Road intersection will be affected by the temporary lane arrangement.
-Motorists travelling from the railway road and surrounding sois into Pattaya: Authorities recommend entering the city via the Sukhumvit–Central Pattaya intersection.
-Motorists travelling from central Pattaya towards the railway road: Drivers are advised to make a U-turn or use the Pornprapanimit–Central Pattaya intersection to reach the railway road.
-Motorists travelling through Pattaya towards Chonburi or Sattahip without entering the city: The railway road is recommended to avoid the marathon route.
-Two underpasses will also be closed, affecting traffic heading towards both Chonburi and Sattahip.
-The motorway entrance for traffic heading towards Bangkok will also be closed. Drivers travelling to Bangkok should make a U-turn near the Sukhumvit–North Pattaya intersection and follow directions from traffic officers.
-Motorists can check real-time road conditions through Pattaya’s traffic camera system, which provides 24-hour views of traffic, rainfall, flooding and conditions on the roads. Drivers can scan the QR code provided in the city’s announcement or follow the link in the original social media post.
