BANGKOK, Thailand – A dead mobile phone battery left a Japanese tourist unable to contact his girlfriend after the couple became separated inside Don Mueang International Airport, prompting him to seek help from Tourist Police on September 20. The tourist approached Don Mueang Tourist Police at around 7:30 p.m. after discovering that his phone had run out of battery, leaving him unable to contact his girlfriend or determine where she was in the airport.
Tourist Police coordinated with the airport’s CCTV monitoring room to track the woman’s movements. Initial footage showed her in the fourth-floor area, but officers could not find her when they checked the location. After reviewing additional CCTV footage, officers discovered that she had left a restroom and was on the third floor.
Police then escorted the man to the third floor, where the couple were successfully reunited.
The officers subsequently accompanied both tourists to their airline’s check-in counter and helped them complete the check-in process.
