PATTAYA, Thailand – More than 2,500 Thai and international runners filled Jomtien Beach early on September 20 for the 12th annual Loma Run On The Beach 2026, combining sport, charity and tourism in one of Pattaya’s popular beachside events.
The event was officially opened at 5:30 a.m. at Dongtan Beach, near the Dongtan Curve, with Pattaya Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat presiding over the opening and awards ceremony.
Also taking part were Ratchada Chomchinda, director of the HHN Foundation for Thai Children; Praichit Jetaphai, Loma Run On The Beach license holder; and Techawat Klinphakdee, deputy director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Office. They joined Pattaya officials and local council members in sending the runners off.
The charity run was organized jointly by Pattaya City, the HHN Foundation for Thai Children and the Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Office. The event has been held annually at Jomtien Beach for 12 years, supporting Pattaya’s goal of developing as a Sport City while promoting health and tourism.
Runners could choose between a 5-kilometre Fun Run and a 10-kilometre Mini Marathon, giving residents, tourists and running enthusiasts the chance to compete along the Jomtien beachfront.
Beyond the competition, the event supports children and young people in need. After expenses, proceeds from the run will be used by the HHN Foundation for Thai Children to provide educational scholarships for disadvantaged children.
This year’s turnout of more than 2,500 runners created a lively atmosphere along Jomtien Beach, with Thai and international participants bringing together sport, healthy living, charity and tourism.
Organizers said the event also helps promote Pattaya as both a tourism destination and a sports city while generating activity for the local tourism economy. Runners can check their race results through the Loma Run On The Beach Facebook page.
