PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya municipal officers issued a fine ticket to a durian vendor selling fruit from the back of a pickup truck in Naklua on September 21, as officials continued checking businesses using public spaces for commercial activity. The vendor was found displaying and selling durians from the rear of the pickup truck in a public area. Officers took action under regulations governing the use of public spaces and informed the vendor of the requirements.
The inspection also covered the placement of merchandise and other items that could obstruct traffic or interfere with pedestrians and other members of the public using the area. Officials said operators found violating the relevant regulations would be processed for fines according to established procedures. The operation aims to keep public spaces orderly while maintaining convenience and safety for pedestrians, motorists and other road users.
