BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the National Innovation Agency (NIA) have launched Amazing Thailand Innovation Gadget, a digital hub that connects tourism businesses with Thai travel technology startups and their products. TAT Tourism Investment Promotion Department Executive Director Natthaphan Treedecha and NIA Executive Director Krithpaka Boonfueng introduced the service during the Amazing Thailand Innovation Gadget & Travel Tech Networking event in Bangkok on September 17.
The project supports wider use of technology across the tourism industry to improve services and traveler experiences before, during, and after trips. It also gives startups opportunities to put their technologies into practical use at tourism destinations and businesses, while helping operators find digital solutions suited to changing traveler behavior.
Amazing Thailand Innovation Gadget currently features innovations from more than 50 tourism-related businesses, and NIA aims to increase that number to at least 100 by 2027. The longer-term plan is to develop the service into a national tourism innovation hub where businesses and other organizations can discover tourism technologies, exchange knowledge, and explore commercial applications. The launch included a 3D hologram presentation, a TECH VIBE discussion on business collaboration, and a Travel Tech Networking session attended by more than 100 participants and organizations.
