BANGKOK, Thailand – The government encourages participants to use their remaining benefits under the “Thais Help Thais Plus” scheme before the program ends this month. Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Persvivatana reported that, as of 11 p.m. on September 4, 2026, total spending under the program had reached 138 billion baht. A total of 26,040,623 people had received benefits, while 1,192,565 participating businesses had passed verification.
Under the 60:40 co-payment scheme, the government covers 60% of eligible purchases and participants pay the remaining 40%. The measure aims to ease the cost of living, stimulate consumer spending, and distribute income to small retailers, restaurants, and community businesses nationwide. The deputy spokesperson said that government contributions totaled 79.5052 billion baht, comprising 76.6042 billion baht spent at general participating businesses and 2.901 billion baht through food-delivery services.
Participants contributed 58.8741 billion baht, including 56.6185 billion baht spent at general businesses and 2.2556 billion baht through food-delivery platforms. Combined spending through food-delivery services reached 5.1566 billion baht. The deputy spokesperson advised participants to review their remaining balance and program conditions before making purchases at participating businesses. She noted that each transaction helps reduce household expenses, supports small businesses, and promotes local economic activity. (NNT)
