Kobsak’s roadmap targets smarter farming, stronger food standards and global markets while helping SMEs and community enterprises expand.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister, Kobsak Pootrakool, has unveiled a comprehensive roadmap to elevate Thailand’s agricultural sector and ensure end-to-end food security. The agricultural framework spans from research-driven upstream operations to export-focused downstream distribution. Upstream activities prioritize plant and animal breeding research, the import of high-quality genetic material, modern machinery, and the empowerment of young farmers and service providers.

Midstream initiatives advance future food biotechnology, fruit shelf-life extension, processing hubs, private sector investments, and food safety standards. Meanwhile, downstream operations target global markets through direct farm delivery, digital sales platforms, strict Halal certification, and standardized farmer registration to maximize export quality. Kobsak, who also serves as chairman of the working groups on agricultural products and food security and community economy, and SMEs, also outlined a policy to help SMEs and community enterprises expand, become market leaders, and compete regionally.
