Municipal officers, working with police and other relevant agencies, are stepping up inspections along Pattaya Beach to keep public parking spaces available for residents and visitors. Vehicles found violating the rules may be locked or towed, with fines imposed under the law, while repeated or serious violations may lead to further legal action.
Authorities said motorists who park along red-and-white or yellow-and-white curbs can face legal penalties. Businesses and individuals are also prohibited from renting out, reserving or occupying public parking spaces for private commercial purposes without permission. Officials said the enforcement aims to restore public access to parking areas, improve order and strengthen safety along the beachfront. The rules apply to everyone, with being a tourist or unfamiliar with local regulations not considered an excuse for violating parking restrictions.
Anyone found using public areas for business without permission will face legal action. Residents and tourists can report problems involving public spaces or illegal parking to the Pattaya City Call Centre at 1337, available 24 hours a day.
