BANGKOK, Thailand – The Sustainable Arts and Crafts Institute of Thailand (Public Organization), or SACIT, has officially launched the “Chud Thai Phra Rajaniyom” (Thai apparel of royal favor) exhibition at SACIT in Bang Sai, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The exhibition is open to the public from Monday to Friday between 08.30 and 16.30 hr.
The exhibition features all eight styles of Chud Thai Phra Rajaniyom, which were initiated under the guidance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. Fashion designers and researchers found inspiration from historical records of royal attire to create a suitable ensemble for every occasion, varying in formality and elegance.
The Chud Thai Phra Rajaniyom exhibition aims to pay tribute to the late Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother for her significant contribution to preserving and promoting Thailand’s cultural heritage. It also highlights Thailand’s nomination of Chud Thai for inscription on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. (PRD)
