CALIFORNIA, USA – Thai musician Nene Royal, Rattikarn Amlai, is continuing to make waves with fans in Thailand and overseas after America’s Got Talent released a preview of her Judge’s Callbacks performance.
Nene, who impressed judges during her audition, returned to the world-famous stage hoping to secure a place in the live shows. Ahead of the performance, she admitted feeling nervous and shy, saying the opportunity was a major dream and that she was determined not to go home. Once the music began, however, Nene appeared to leave her nerves behind and delivered a much more confident performance.
For the Callbacks, Nene performed “Hysteria” by British rock band Muse. The song gave her an opportunity to showcase both her guitar skills and stage presence, following feedback from the judges during her previous appearance. Nene moved more confidently around the stage while playing guitar, gradually building the performance into an energetic rock showcase. She also retained a distinctive Thai touch by performing the traditional wai to greet the audience before the performance and again to thank them afterward.
The performance drew strong praise from judges Howie Mandel and guest judge Nikki Glaser, who highlighted Nene’s increased confidence and ability to connect with the audience. The judges also praised her talent as both a singer and guitarist, suggesting that her musical abilities could support a show of her own. Glaser went so far as to say that regardless of whether Nene advances in the competition, she would already be willing to buy a ticket to see her perform. The newly released AGT clip quickly attracted attention online, surpassing one million views and generating another wave of support from fans in Thailand and around the world. Nene’s fans are now waiting to see whether she advances to the Live Show Quarterfinals. The results and her full performance are scheduled to be revealed on Tuesday, August 11.
