PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City officials are continuing efforts to organize parking along Pattaya Beach, warning motorists not to park along red-and-white curb markings and prohibiting businesses from using public parking spaces for rental, reserved parking or private commercial purposes. Pattaya municipal enforcement officers, working with police and relevant agencies, are conducting inspections and enforcing regulations to return public parking spaces to residents and tourists while improving order and safety along the beachfront.
The move comes as parking remains a challenge for many visitors arriving in Pattaya by car or rental vehicle. Some tourists unfamiliar with local parking rules may not know where they can legally leave their vehicles, particularly along busy sections of the beach where available spaces are limited.
City officials are encouraging visitors to use parking facilities provided by hotels and other accommodations, shopping malls and other private parking areas where fees may apply. Visitors can also consider using public transport or walking when travelling around the beachfront, particularly during busy periods.
Officials stressed that public parking spaces should remain available for general use and should not be reserved, rented out or occupied for private commercial purposes without permission. Vehicles parked in prohibited areas are subject to fines under the law, while anyone using public space for business purposes without permission may face legal action. The city’s enforcement campaign is intended not only to address illegal parking but also to ensure that public beachfront areas remain accessible to residents and tourists.
