NONTHABURI, Thailand – Police investigating the deadly shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School have examined the home of the 14-year-old suspect and are reviewing his computer activity in an effort to establish his behavior and possible motive. Pol. Lt. Gen. Wattana Yeejeen, Commander of Provincial Police Region 1, led officers in inspecting the suspect’s home in the Bang Kruai area of Nonthaburi on August 7.
Commander Wattana said information provided by the suspect’s uncle indicated that the boy had lived with his grandparents from a young age. He was described as someone who enjoyed playing games and spending considerable time on a computer, while there had been no clear history of serious disputes or obvious signs of stress.
Police analysts are examining the suspect’s desktop computer and other digital evidence. Preliminary findings indicated that he had played games containing violent content, while investigators are continuing to examine his online and other activities for information that could help establish a possible motive. Police are also investigating reports concerning possible problems at school and have yet to establish whether they were connected to the shooting.
According to the initial inspection of the home, officers found a desktop computer containing five video files showing overseas shooting incidents. Police reportedly found that the videos had been viewed from July 30, several days before the shooting. Investigators are examining the files and other digital evidence to determine their relevance to the case. Police stressed that the investigation remains ongoing and that any possible motive must be established through evidence and witness statements rather than speculation.
