CHONBURI, Thailand – Police are investigating the death of a Chonburi woman who was found inside her vehicle after her family reported her missing earlier in the day. The woman was discovered at around 5.30 p.m. on August 4, inside a Toyota Vios parked at kilometre marker 51+400 on the outbound side of a road heading toward Map Ta Phut, Rayong. Officers arriving at the scene found a woman sitting in the driver’s seat with a firearm in her hand and no signs of life. Police later confirmed that she was the same person reported missing by her husband.
The investigation was initially handled by Chonburi City Police Station, which had received the missing person report, before officers coordinated with Bang Pakong Police Station, responsible for the area where the vehicle was found, to process the scene and proceed according to legal procedures.
The woman, identified as Pojanee, had left her home in Samnak Bok Subdistrict, Mueang Chonburi District, driving the same vehicle before losing contact with her family at around 10.30 a.m.
Her husband told police that she had sent a message through the LINE application that appeared to be a farewell message before communication stopped. He also said she had been receiving treatment for depression for about three years.
Police were also informed that she had taken a legally registered CZ 9mm handgun from the house before leaving. Authorities are continuing to examine evidence and investigate the circumstances surrounding the death before taking further legal action.
