BANGKOK, Thailand – The Transport Co., Ltd. (BKS) is inviting the public to consider using its bus service during the extended holiday at the end of July, promoting domestic tourism and economic activity in communities across the country. The holiday period, covering His Majesty the King’s Birthday, Asalha Bucha Day, and Buddhist Lent Day, runs from July 25 to 30.
The BKS expects about 100,000 passengers a day traveling to their hometowns and tourist destinations during the six-day period. To accommodate demand, the company will operate about 6,200 bus services daily, including routes run by the company and affiliated private operators. Officials said additional buses and personnel have been prepared to ensure sufficient service for travelers.
BKS President Atthawit Rakjamroon said passenger safety remains the company’s highest priority. All buses will undergo inspections before departure, while drivers must receive adequate rest, pass drug and alcohol screening, comply with speed limits, and follow traffic laws. Two drivers will be assigned to routes lasting more than four hours to reduce fatigue.
Additional staff will be deployed at bus terminals nationwide to assist passengers and support traffic management in coordination with relevant agencies. BKS also encouraged travelers to book tickets in advance through its website, mobile application, social media channels, ticket counters, or authorized outlets, and reminded passengers to wear seat belts throughout their journey.
